Please Buy This Book
Christmas, the season of obligation, will shortly be upon us. This year, give the people you love If You Didn’t Bring Jerky, What Did I Just Eat? (Atlantic Monthly Press), a best-of collection of stories by me, Bill Heavey, probably the baldest man ever to write for Field & Stream. My range is astounding, from fishing all the way to hunting. Plus I offer foolproof strategies for calling in sick to work. As a semi-gainfully-employed writer spending way too much money on scent-reducing soaps, sprays, and lotions, I’m begging you to buy a few copies. $23; available wherever books are sold/ -- Bill Heavey

I just finished reading the book.If you like the articles in the back of F&S you'll love the book. Plus Heavey has to be the only person on the planet who's hunting stories can make me look successful.

$14.86 on Overstock.com, although it says the book is not released yet. I'll probably get a copy for my Dad for Christmas.

the web is an amazing thing. you can already buy a "lightly used" copy of a book that has not yet been officially released.
my mother said she liked it and would have bought a copy even if i weren't her only son.
i think she's lying.

I throw my copy at everyone who comes in the door and tell them to pick a story and read it. All smiles and laughter. I was just getting ready to write a Jeer as to why F&S hadn't bound copies of all your back page stories. Great timing! Great Book. Thanks again!
