BuckTracker: Giant Alabama Bowkill

As other Buck Tracker entries indicate, I try to track down and interview hunters lucky enough to tag monster whitetails. In many cases this just isn’t possible, but I hate to pass the opportunity to share the photos of great deer. To that end, check out the gorgeous buck below. All the information I have on this massive, tall-tined bowkill is that it was shot near Greenville, Alabama. If any of you know more detail than that, let me know, as I’d love to call this gentleman and hear his story. Of course I have an ulterior motive, too; maybe the guy’s luck would jump into the phone line and light on me!

I believe you mean alterior motive?

nope, it's ulterior.

Dude could smile a little bit for the photo...I know you are bad and all but I would be pooping myself with joy if I shot that buck!

Levi Banks

I agree, I'd be pretty happy...also, is it that difficult to maybe clean some of the blood up or move the deer slightly?

dave c

yea nice buck ,but i never did think much of gun bows with sights and triggers

No, seriously, why doesn't anybody ever look happy after bagging these amazing trophies? I know that if I were holding that rack, my smile wouldn't even fit in the pic! Watch out Illinois, Alabama's got some deer!

All the blood and the tough-guy expression may be misleading, but there's nothing that bugs me more than guys that use hunting to bolster a [email protected]$$ persona. It's realy pretty pathetic and lacks respect for the animal. I hope I'm wrong; maybe this is just a bad photo of a good-enough guy.
Anyway, what's important here is the deer. Wow! What a buck--especially for Alabama.

brandon ruffolo

nice buck. wow

Milo

Who knows? Maybe this guy has 10 other photos at home where he's smiling ear to ear. All I can tell you is if I took anything like this with my bow, I'd have a perma-grim etched into my face. At funerals and divorce proceedings, people would whisper about what a jerk I am, and I wouldn't be able to do a thing about it.

Milo

Oops. That's perma-GRIN, not "grim." There is, of course, nothing grim about a big, permanent smile. Sorry.

this buck is awesome and he was killed in fosyth county ga.the hunter is pictured smiling in the november issue of gon!!!!

bowhunter

this is an awesome buck. if anyone doesn't like the blood or the fact this guy isn't smiling, you suck.
more importantly, you are not a bow hunter. don't complain about something someone else does if you don't have a chance in hell to stop them.....PETA......HA!

bowhunter

anyone who quotes anything said by an active PETA member, with hopes of convincing a hunter its true can wake the up and smell the roses. IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN YOU ANIMAL LOVIN FREAKS

bowhunter

great kill, i only wish i had a chance to stick one that dam big
and the blood and the no smile is the same thing i would do, its badass

Sal

This Buck was killed in Buffalo Cty. Then sold to the highest bidder. (hence the $3,000 smile)
