Gun Sales Tax Holiday, Just In Time For Christmas

Thinking about giving a gun as a gift this holiday season? Well, the time to buy it is coming soon if you live in South Carolina.

From The Independent Mail:

Beginning the day after Thanksgiving, South Carolina residents will have a 48-hour period when they can purchase guns, shotguns, and rifles tax-free.

The first annual Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday in the state is set to begin at 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 28 and continue through 11:59 p.m. Nov. 29.

I'm in school right now

I definenitely like the way these people think. Not only are their sales through the roof anyway, this will boost it even more! If only North Dakota could do something like this.......

Please, Florida, take note of the boost to the economy Carolina will get with this tax-holiday. Please follow their lead.

As long as the tax that SC is suspending is the state sales tax, its ok with me. If, however, they are talking about the 11% Pitman Robertson tax on firearms and ammunition I can't support that. The Pitman Robertson tax is the what helps fund nearly ever states' fish & wildlife agency for wildlife management, based on the number of hunting and fishing licenses sold. I know it's only for one day, but every little bit helps out for building more habitat.
