Chad Love: If McCain Loses ...

As we get closer to election day  and the dismal  poll numbers keep rolling in for the McCain-Palin camp, it  might be time to start looking past the election. Hollywood certainly is.

From hollywoodreporter.com :
As  campaign  managers for Sarah Palin plot last-minute tactics to get her  elected,  Hollywood bigwigs are convening strategy sessions of their own.  Their goal:  finding the ideal on-air vehicle for the vp candidate if and  when she exits  politics.

Love her or hate   her -- there doesn't seem to be much middle ground with Palin -- the   44-year-old hockey mom has captured the public imagination in a way no   politician has since, well, Barack  Obama.

But as  more and more polls cast doubt on the  McCain-Palin ticket, producers and  agents across the entertainment world  are discussing possibilities for  capitalizing on her fame, ranging from  an Oprah-style syndicated talk show to  a Sean Hannity-like perch in  cable news or on  radio.

So  here's an  idle thought: In the long run would it actually be better for  us if McCain lost? Think about it, what's the favorite pastime of  millions of American lemmings, I mean citizens? That's right, killing  brain cells in front of a TV. Regardless of questions concerning her  qualifications for VP, you  can't deny she's tailor-made for television.  As a vehicle for getting the hunting/shooting cause into the national  dialogue where it  belongs, this potentially beats the hell out of her current candidacy.

Why? Because a McCain-Palin administration would be nothing like a Bush-Cheney administration. Despite the campaign rhetoric, Sarah Palin's role is going to revert right back to to what the VP's was before Dick Cheney entered the office: ribbon-cuttings and attending the funerals of third-world potentates. And really, what good is that going to do us?

But a Palin talk show? Priceless. It has the potential  to project a pro-hunting, pro-firearms image to millions of people. So  let's say for the sake of argument that McCain loses and Palin gets snatched up by a network. You are now the executive producer of her forthcoming  show. What will be the format and what will be the topics? How would you  present Palin to the world?

When we take your guns, you gonna be defenseless to us. Vote Obama.

Wow

Everyone who is saying how bad Obama is need to face reality. The Republicans did such a God awful job over the last 8 years, that the American people are about to vote them out of the White House, and going to hand the Dems close to 60 seats.

Instead of blaming everyone else, and making excuses, and spreading fear and rumors, maybe the Republicans should look at what they did, and blame the only people who deserve it. Themselves.

Kharma is a [email protected] isn't it??

because clinton was that great?

Wow

No, I guess he wasn't that great, if you're into Peace, Prosperity, and respect in the eyes of the World....

SHARPSHOOTER

IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER WHO WINS THE ELECTION. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY REPUBLICAN & DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTS THROUGHOUT HISTORY AND WE ALL STILL HAVE OUR GUNS!

Travis Neltner

Is it just me or does Barack Hussein Obama sound like a terrorists name?

Travis

Is it just me or does Brack Hussein Obama sound like a terrorists name?

aq few comments on the above, it is not fully automatic weapons that they are on the democratic platform hit list, it is semi-autos. big difference. Second, how did you think the world thought of us when Bill got caught with his pants down in the Oval Office? terrorists were attacking us then too. As to the comment about taking away our guns, I don't think that will happen right away, but what good are our guns if we can't afford ammo? They want to tax it and ban lead to the point that only the rich and thieves will be able to shoot. The other tactic is to eliminate hunting by " balancing nature" i.e. the re-introduction of preditors such as wolves. They will devistate the elk herds (which is happening now) then there will be nothing left to hunt.

Sorry for the typos, a new notebook while surfing out in the bright sun doesn't help. My point is that putting a inexperianced person in the white house because you are unhappy with the economy, is not the answer. We will learn the hard way after much damage.

How can you possibly vote for a guy who can't even produce a valid birth certificate?? The real story on obama; born in Kenya-adopted in Hawaii. The certificate of live birth that he has produced on his web-site is not a legal document, it's what is made up when a real birth certificate cannot be found. Why can't the State of Hawaii find it? Because he was really born in Kenya. Why do you think he won't produce the original?? He's not a natural born american citizen.

Wow

Who probably had the best resume and most "experience" in all of Washington circa 2000?

Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld. And look how well they worked out for us.

Experience on its own means nothing. You need Judgement, Vision, Knowledge....Experience...and a whole lot of other attributes. All of which Obama has.

And yes, Travis, his name is a bit different. Try getting out of your small town. A lot of people have strange names in this country. This isn't 1956 anymore.

Remember: McCain has just as much executive experience as Obama. Neither of them have been a governor or president. Only Sarah Palin has any executive experience, and that is as governor of a state with 1/6th the population of Puerto Rico. Of course, she does have experience telling the Russians to shoo! in the morning.

I'd be seriously concerned with lack of vetting in the sleectio process for McCains Vp. Seriously, did nobody actually look at her background before selecting her? How is that Abstinence-Only sex-ed going? If they couldn't check her out before selecting her, then I can only imagine what else McCain would do without looking at the big picture.

On the flip side, if McCain wins, Palin will make SNL awesome for the next 4 years!

RJ

judgement? what kind of judgement does Obama show us? He sits in church for 20 years listening to a man rant racist anti american crap, and only distances himself from it when we call him on it.

Wow

He had enough judgement to know that the Iraq war was a sham....

Andrew

The dems will ban "assult weapons" again and will probably tax ammo too. I doubt if they will be able to create a national gun registration, but they will certainly make it easy to sue the gun industry over bogus claims. So we will be paying more to hunt and shoot and most of the money will go to the dems leftist political allies. Obama has no respect for the Constitution or traditional values.

Obama's leadership experience, yes - he was co-chairman of a non-profit. It went broke, he and his fellow co-chair walked away rich. That's something to take to the White House. Some experience. The Democrats have had majorities in Congress since the last election and haven't accomplished anything. When something needed done (Energy bill) it was written substantially by Republican and moderate Democrat Representatives and Senators. When issues arise the Democrats point the finger at the Republicans who they expect to come up with the answer (the Republicans are the minority party and lack the votes to move issues through). Sen. McCain has served in Congress for many years - and works with people in both parties to get important legislation passed. I don't want to see a lack of checks and balances by having Democrat majorities of both houses and a Democrat in the White House. Sen. Obama has been substantially less than forward with his actual plans once elected and refuses to answer or changes the topic if pressed. He just says he plans to change America, not really how. His 143 days in the Senate before beginning his campaigning for presidential nomination are less than stellar qualifications. Anyone who spouts or believes the "he'll be too busy with the war and economy to push anti-gun legislation" falsehood will be in for a real surprise next year if he wins. I think it's just Pro-Obama spin. He doesn't know how to fix the economy and he adopted Bush's plan for the war - with a shorter exit date. I'm told many undecided voters are chalked up to Obama in polls (by people who were asked by pollsters), so forget the polls - go vote! Vote for the candidate you think will do the best job.
JMH

Wow

But iI keeping going back to the root of my argument.... What does experience mean? As stated above...look who had the best resumes in all of Washington. Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld. They have been in several administrations, served in lots of different positions, yet when they were in charge, they blew it. Yes, McCain has a longer career than Obama. But so what. It is obvious ( atleast to me ) that Obama has a calm, steady hand, and can make wise decisions when he needs to. McCain, although I used to be a huge fan....went to his rallies in 2000, read all his books.... has been a bit of a nutcase whenever there is a crisis. ( Today, we are all Georgians....I'm suspending my campaign....)

Abe Lincoln didn't have much experience either.

We need to elect people who are natural LEADERS and not just politicians with resumes.

Thats my 2 cents anyways....

Gman

You guys forgot the part about Obama being a Socialist.

Granted, not as good a Socialist as "gimme $700 billion or die" Hank Paulson, but still...

A Commie's a Commie. Especially if he's a Negro without a birth certificate and with a funny name.

Can't get complacent, can't get complacent...

Malc. X

Ha Ha all you, da man gonna get you guns. Then we gonna have a field day wit you.

Da man

Malc. X-
Nice grammar retard.

I'm in school right now

Here's an odd story about Obama (or as I like to call him, Osama).....
I was driving to school down a gravel road one day when i noticed a guy who was getting a bunch of oddly colored pigs together. I decided to stop in and see what it was. Low and behold this guy had covered his pigs with obama campaign signs to represent obama being a pig. I thought this was getting kind of dumb because this referance was getting old. but later when i went outside for a quick run around the school i saw this man walking, yes walking, these pigs around. The man now was holding a sign saying "no pig can take our guns away, vote mccain" people were either honking their pleasure or throwing stuff at him. I thought it was pretty humourous, but it got even better when i saw the cop getting a good laugh out of it. It set the tone for a good day.

The hate spewed on this page ("negro," "osama," "hussein") is embarrassing. I hunt and own guns, and will be voting for Obama. But at least I can disagree on the issues without resorting to angry, hate-filled messages toward McCain. It reflects poorly on the hunting and fishing community.

Wow

Agreed

Yo Mamma

JUST VOTE McCAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
