Five Florida College Kids Charged In Gator Grab

Sure we all did stupid things in college, but honestly . . . .

From the Orlando Sentinel:

Five Embry-Riddle University students are in jail this morning after trying to steal a baby alligator from a miniature golf course in Daytona Beach, police said. . . .

They all face a $1,000 bond.

I'm in school right now

What is the point of stealing an alligator? What are you going to do with it? Raise it?!?

Nate, your question has a fundamental flaw... you're operating under the assumption that the petty theives posing as college "students" actually had a plan (beyond exiting the golf course) to begin with.

Dumb ass kids doing dumb ass things. I was one of them years ago. Add booze and at least triple the dumb ass factor. Kinda funny but they will pay for their stupidity.

My Alma Mater, great. No alumni check from me this year (not that they were getting one anyway).

too bad one of them didn't lose a finger.

They might have been trying to sell the thing on the black market. Maybe not so stupid. But hey, if you're going to get a gator to sell on the black market don't just take one off a golf course were there's probably people watching. Now that's stupid!!!!

Given enough alcohol, anything makes sense. :-)

Why would a mini-golf course have an alligator?

Trae B.

Kids: Lets steal a gator.

Gater: Lets not.

Kids: I got em. OWWWWW!!!

Gator: I got em back.

don m

kind of like me 35-40 years ago, we all did, do dumb a** things now and then.

Blue Ox

Where's Darwin when we need him?

Gator tail fried is damn good....particularly when intoxicated.

That, my friends, was their plan.
