Deer In The Swimming Pool

If you haven’t been seeing many deer this season, maybe it’s because you closed you pool too soon.
From the Baltimore Sun:
They didn't jump in.

They didn't fall in.

They didn't push each other in.

[Homeowner] Bob Olwine saw them walk down the steps and descend into four feet of water.

"They probably just figured it was a small pond and they could swim across," says Brian Eyler, a deer biologist with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. "I've heard of deer getting stuck in pools before, but don't know anyone who actually saw them walk in."

This situation (and the picture) cracks me up. You wanna help the deer get out, but they don't understand that concept. I vote for Darwinism. The deer that swims in a hunter's pool doesn't get to have little deer of his own...simple as that. Say what you will, but I guarantee that no part of these animals would be wasted, if I caught them in my pool. Illegal, maybe...just keep your trap shut and you won't have a problem. Yea, it might sound harsh, but I know my dogs would take out the deer before they ever get a chance to take a dip in my pool.
