Bobcat-Battling Senior Turns Down Leno

Maine’s Mildred Luce is one incredible 90-year-old woman. She’s an avid flyfisher, very hard working, and a great cook, says her daughter Martha. And as if that weren’t enough, she recently grabbed a bobcat by the head in one hand and pulled on it’s tail with the other to extract her cat, Smudge, from the animal’s mouth.

Plus Mildred is modest, to boot, recently turning down invitations from The Tonight Show and The Today Show to tell how she saved her pet. "I'm just not that kind of person," she said, according to this Kennebec Journal story.

Date Reder

Isn't this about 2 years old?

Dave Hurteau

Yes it is. My bad. Good catch.
The story was posted on a current news page, and I failed to check the original date.
Thanks for setting me straight.

I only know because I wanted her for a radio interview (yeah, I know, she's too big for Leno, but HEY... she might LOVE me!) and when I started looking for more, everything came up with an old date.

Oh well, it makes good 'filler'. :)

Peace out Dave.
