Breaking News: You Really Can Shoot Yourself By Whacking Bullets With a Hammer

For years, most people have merely assumed that it’s possible, even likely, to shoot yourself by whacking bullets with a hammer. Now, one brave (if not too bright) soul has proved it. From The New York Times:

A teenager who put bullets in a vise and whacked them with a hammer to empty the brass shell casings was wounded in the abdomen by approximately the 100th bullet he hit, according to Warren County deputies.

Damion M. Mosher, 18, had been discharging .223-caliber rounds, placing them in a steel vise, putting a screwdriver on the primer, and striking the screwdriver with the hammer, deputies said.

I guess evolution missed a generation.

There are times I root for the tiger, this is one of them. He seems to be the type that would see a dog crap on the lawn, look at it, touch it, smell it, taste it then say " I'm sure glad I didn't step in it!"
But then if he did his mommy would sue the owner of the dog.

Seems like this is one of those people that should be nominated for a Darwin Award. I'm sure his parents will sue the Ammunition Company for not putting a warning on label that says not to hit the ammo with a hammer. What a putz.

what a idiot, it only takes commin sense to know that if you hit a bullet with a hammer something is bound to happen.
