Second-Chance Permits: Gun groups join Wyoming’s suit against ATF

According to a state law passed in 2004, Wyoming residents who’ve lost their right to carry a gun due to a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction can petition the court to expunge such convictions for the purposes of restoring their gun rights. Not surprisingly, this doesn’t sit well with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which has recently rejected the law. In May, the Equality State fought back with a lawsuit against the ATF and now both the NRA and the Gun Owners Foundation have filed friend-of-the-court briefs supporting Wyoming's challenge.
