The word that describe this best is Humility
Humility is a quality or characteristic ascribed to a person who is considered to be humble. "Humility is derived from the Latin word "humilis", which means low, humble, from earth.[1] A humble person is generally thought to be unpretentious and modest: someone who does not think that he or she is better or more important than others. The concept of humility in various religions is often much more precise and extensive. Humility is not to be confused with humiliation, which is the act of making someone else feel ashamed, and is something completely different.

As in golf, where anyone can act childish and throw tantrums and nine irons---so in shooting, adults can exhibit what Momma or Dad failed to communicate to them: focus, purpose, and sportsmanship.
And, of course...a little forgiveness helps us live with the world.

W. Page makes sense. I do a number of activities where I shouldn’t or can’t think too much about *others*.
In my clay target games it really doesn’t matter who’s in my squad, who’s shooting in the competition or even if I’m just shooting by myself, I still have to deal with the Game. So, there is my focus.
