Happy New Year!
Here's another gem from the F&S archives to wish you and your families a healthy and happy New Year. Hopefully 2009 will bring each of us many rewarding hours, "In the Cathedral of Nature."
Also, a note for New Year's Day: Our own Jan Favors (known to us as Jan) went on an NRA Women On Target safari last August, and she wrote to let me know that her hunt for a Mountain Reedbuck will be featured on the Outdoor Channel January 1 at 9:30 p.m. I can post some of Jan's pictures and a few more details on her hunt next week (she called it the "most fun" of her four trips to Africa), but just wanted to make sure that those of you who get the channel know to keep an eye out for Jan! -K.H.
Neat photo! What a fashion statement! I particularly like the jaunty hat.
Thanks for the good wishes, Kim. Looking forward to hearing the report of the Safari trip. Jan must be a very adventurous lady!
Happy New Year to all!

Happy New Year!!
Everytime I see pics like that it makes me think how thankful those women would be for the oversized mens camo that we complain about!
Dang it, I wish I got the Outdoor Channel! Sorry Jan! I'll just have to wait for the pics. I'm sure you're excited!!

Happy New Year everyone. Cool picture Kim.
Sometimes I wish I could have lived in the "Little House On The Prarie" days just to experience their day to day life. If you didn't hunt it, grow it and harvest it...you didn't eat it.
No drive thru fast food joints, no little store on the corner to grab a gallon of milk. No cars to jump in to, you either walked or hitched up the horses for you trip to town.
I think it would be neat to experience their life but I sure as heck wouldn't want to hunt in those long skirts and petty coats. As clumsey as I am, I would hook my boot in the hem of my dress, trip, fire off the only load I had in my gun and go home empty handed to my hungry family. lol
Have a great weekend everyone.

Dang, we were at the ranch, no cell phones or TV signal so I missed Jan's African adventure. Let us know if you know of a re-run date!
