Kirk Deeter is an editor-at-large for Field & Stream and an unabashed trout bum. A weirdo by any measure, his “out there” story angles have taken him to the bottom of raging rivers in scuba gear, and the California coast to chase sharks from kayaks.
He has written two books, Castwork, and Tideline, which were, by his own admission, good excuses to convince his wife to let him go on fishing trips, though they have yet to produce measurable income or widespread acclaim. He has flogged rivers from Chile to Alaska, and now guides part-time on the North Fork of Colorado’s South Platte River. Deeter has worked on location producing feature stories with Tim Romano for several years, but he still considers Timmy a “CF4S” angler.
