Steelhead on Dead Drift Green Drakes?
I have a little confession to make... I'm going deep into BC tomorrow to visit my friends Roy Tanami and Hannah Belford at the Damdochax lodge. Shhhh, don't tell Deeter.
Hannah and her mother - (yes, I said mother) Alice have run this camp for a long time and I feel honored to be invited up. I have never caught a west coast steelhead and am incredibly excited by the prospect.
I found this insane footage by flyboysfishing.com while doing my usual web browsing and decided that this might be the nuttiest piece of steelhead fishing I've ever seen. While I have no delusions about catching a steelhead on a dead drift dry I am giddy about the trip.
Enjoy the film and I'll do my damnedest to shoot back some photos and stories over the next week.

looks insane...I'm truly jealous. I have a presentation and two tests tomorrow (I know I should be studying but this is how I spend my breaks) at Georgia Tech, which by the way I played football for 4 years for Tech so no negative comments about Tech sports. So you're my least favorite person right now. But I'm about to graduate this fall and plan on moving out west/canada/alaska for half a year to be a fish bum before grad school. So I'm not too jealous. All kidding aside, I hope you have a great time and get to experience steelhead on dry flies.

Georgia Tech - do it. be a fish bum for a while. What's the rush with grad school? it will always be there. I was a fish bum in NZ for three months and it is the reason I'm in the crazy business. Watch out..
