Flyfishing May Indeed Be a Snobby, Elitist Sport
Woo-hoo! Finally, a shining example of "Everyman" commerce that will lift the sport of flyfishing above the stigma that it is a snobby, elitist sport...
Check out this article on Chanel's new flyfishing setup! Now anyone can spend a mere £9,170 (about $18,000) for their own Coco Chanel-inspired flyfishing rig! Who could pass this one up? After all, Coco herself apparently honed her flyfishing talents in the 1920s with the Duke of Westminster. I've already contacted the company for a field test sample... I wanna tie it to a Harley, hook a few sharks, and give it the honest shakedown, Fly Talk style. So I can't render an opinion yet on the quality/action and all. And I did also ask the company how much of the sticker price is earmarked for conservation causes, but, again, I haven't heard back yet. Nevermind, I'm sure it's a slam-dunk.
Jeez, Louise... if this isn't a sign of the impending apocalypse, I'm not sure what is. I've had enough. I'm going to the Bahamas. Tomorrow. Gonna catch me some bonefish, drink rum punches, and stick my toes (maybe my head) in the sand.
