The 2008 Total Outdoorsman Challenge has come to an end. Somehow, we managed to get through without any major problems with the weather. Although, it did start pouring right after the awards ceremony. But by then, we were all too excited about celebrating to care.
But I digress. Let's get on the important stuff—the results!
Although he got off to a rough start in the rifle event, Paul Thompson staged one hell of a comeback and successfully defended his title (again) to win his third consecutive TOC. Three in a row...I don't know about you guys, but I think Paul's three-peat has earned him a spot in the Dynasty Club.
Immediately after Paul won, he joked that he was going to call it quits. But I think everyone knows that they can expect to see Paul back next year, gunning for Number 4.
Congrats, Paul, on another incredible performance. The bragging rights are yours for at least one more year.

Congrats Paul!, and everyone else who competed this year. I sure did miss everyone this year, including the people who make this event happen. Hopefully I'll be able to pull it together and meet everyone in MS. next year.

CONGRATULATIONS PAUL!!!
Hey Cory go home and practice for next year!!

Paul was definitely the one that deserved the win. He was and is the BEST OUTDOORSMAN!! Also, the competition was stiffer across the board this year (I think Paul would agree).
Congratulations Paul.

Please stay in touch.

I knew Paul Thompson would win it again! I only wish I would have guessed the right amount of points to win that BPS card! Congratulations Paul Thompson for an amazing 3-peat! Can't wait to see what this young man does next year...what a talent. He should have his own show on TV.

I second that Al! It was a great time and it was an honor competing with all of you. Paul worked his but off to get up there in points to take over the lead. It was close especially when he missed the teal, but he was the man. Props to James Harrod who had the stones to hit the 10point on the bear shot!
I look forward to next year and hope to see you guys sooner on a hunting and fishing trip!

Thanks for all the support guys-it has really been a ride! Just because I won the the whole event doesn't replace the fact that Coop schooled me on bass fishing, Scott Marcin whooped me in shotgun and rifle, Stedina was able to pull out more inches (of trout), and several guys proved they were quicker on the endurance course. Don't know about you, but kind of looks like to me that I was the one that got spanked. Every competitor that was there is a true total outdoorsman and I am honored to say that I was able to compete against them. My only regret is that I competed AGAINST them and not hunted WITH them.

Congrats Paul!! This is your fellow 2007 competitor from Alabama! I hate I couldn't be there with everyone this year, but I sure hope to qualify and make it next year. Good Job Everyone - hope to see you in 2009!

I heard from Beth (F&S) that many women complained that Paul had on too many clothes when he was on last years magazine cover - and wanted to see more of Paul and less gear… For this year’s cover, give the girls what they want, but he might want to borrow Stedina's trout for camo since it was 'bigger'.
